The Northern Star Organ Trio
£9.00

Description
The Northern Star Organ Trio
with
Rob Bromhead (guitar)
Bob Birch (Hammond organ)
Bruce Renshaw (drums)
Usually to be found playing the clubs and bars around Leeds and Bradford, the Northern Star Organ Trio will be heading south-east on August 12th to bring us a lively night of soul classics, rare groove, original tunes – and maybe the odd jazz standard too!
In particular it’ll be great to welcome guitarist Rob Bromhead back to the club who had early-career links to Norwich in the years following his graduation from the Leeds College of Music jazz course.
Organist Bob Birch rose to prominence after joining the “New Mastersounds” funk/ jazz fusion band in 1998, touring Europe and the US for over twenty years and producing over a dozen albums. Meantime drummer Bruce Renshaw, who specialised in drums, piano and composition at Leeds College of Music, now regularly plays in rock bands, big bands, jazz bands, percussion ensembles, brass bands, funk bands and musicals.
There’s nothing so visceral as getting up-close to a real Hammond organ complete with rotary speaker, so don’t miss what promises to be an evening of hard-driving grooves from this super-tight trio.
