This evening the club are pleased to host a return visit by award-winning tenor saxophonist Karen Sharp as she performs her selection of sophisticated standards with the house trio.

Originally from Suffolk, Karen has made many appearance with our club over the course of her career though 10 years seem to have slipped by since she last performed here as a soloist..! Well-known around the UK’s jazz clubs and festivals (including the long-running Norwich Jazz Party), from her earliest days as a clarinettist and tenor and baritone saxophonist Karen has been a popular choice for the UK’s big-bands, including those of Humphrey Lyttelton, Guy Barker, Stan Tracey and the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra.

Featuring arrangements for smaller ensembles, Karen has released six albums under her own name (collaborating with top artists such as Dave Priseman, Colin Oxley and Nikki Iles) and we’re looking forward to discovering which of her favourite tunes she’ll be bringing along for us to perform for you this evening.
