Perennial companions of the road, bickering and making up, they pass the time with verbal gymnastics and physical clowning. Pozzo, driving with a whip a rope-bound, baggage-carrying slave Lucky, provides a diversion before a Boy arrives with a message from Godot. The second Act repeats this pattern, or does it?
