Since 1921 The Maddermarket Theatre has been staging plays, musicals and other events in the heart of Norwich. Today there is more choice than ever, with twelve in-house plays being staged each year, visiting companies and artists providing classical, opera and contemporary music concerts, stand-up comedy, dance, theatre productions, talks and much more, along with a busy programme of classes and workshops.

We have three performance spaces; our main auditorium, the Emmerson Studio Theatre and the Redwell Maddermarket Bar and Gallery. Each space is unique and hosts productions and events both during the day and in the evening, depending on our programme.

You will find more information about our bar and gallery on the 'your visit' page and please stop by our youtube channel for more about what we do.

We are always looking for new volunteers to get involved at the Theatre. Whether you have an interest in acting, working backstage, helping front-of-house or in the box office, there are a variety of roles to suit. We are a registered charity no 234993. Visit our auditions and volunteer pages to find out more.

Whether you are coming to see a performance, take part in a workshop, or get involved in one or more of our voluntary roles, we hope you enjoy your time with us!
