The Jungle Book
Rudyard Kipling’s stories have been adapted for the stage by Stuart Paterson, in this reimagining of the much-loved stories of The Jungle Book for a new generation. A vibrant, colourful family adventure that’s full of surprises, The Jungle Book will be entertainment for the whole family.
This production is not what you might expect if you are only familiar with the Disney version of the tale – this production is true to the original book and Kipling’s words and verses. The sounds of the jungle will be transformed into a lively, upbeat percussive sound-world and the action set in a dystopian version of Kipling’s jungle.
Saved from the jaws of Shere Khan the tiger, Mowgli must learn the Laws of the Jungle from Baloo the bear and Bagheera the panther to survive. A brave little man cub grows into a confident and care-free young boy, but danger is never far away and Shere Khan is hungry for revenge. As Mowgli faces each peril and pitfall, he must decide whether he belongs in the world of men or with the animal kingdom.
This production of The Jungle Book will be brought to life by the award-winning Echo Youth Theatre Company, whose shows always deliver fast-paced action, stunning visuals and outstanding perfomances in top class productions.
