The Norwich Players present
Described by Aykbourn as his only true farce, Taking Steps is ingenious, frantic and ‘riotously funny’ (The Guardian).
A builder, who has leased his house to Roland, a hard-drinking business tycoon, is now desperate to sell it to him. Roland wants to buy it. So far so simple. Yet the house is falling down, may well be haunted and Roland’s wife keeps trying to leave him. Mark, her brother-in-law is supposed to be helping but people fall asleep when he talks, and Tristram, the bumbling lawyer, has a habit of ending up in the wrong bed. Selling a house is never easy, but it’s rarely as hair-brained as this!
